About Me
I’m Dr. Lynch, a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience providing assessment and treatment of psychological issues.
A deep interest in how people endure and transform in the face of challenges led me to the field of psychology. In my early career, working in hospitals, natural disaster sites, courts, and prisons shaped my understanding of how stress and trauma impact our functioning and taught me that even in the most difficult circumstances, people have remarkable capacity for resilience and change.
While this work could be profoundly impactful and fulfilling, over time I observed how the relentless stress and demands of high-stakes roles eroded the wellbeing of my colleagues and myself.
This led me to an expanded focus on the impact of chronic stress in the workplace and complex relational trauma, which continues to inform my work.
Today, my therapy practice focuses on helping adults navigate major life transitions, chronic stress, and trauma recovery in a way that fosters growth and transformation. Sometimes, just making space to tell your story in a slow, reflective manner with a compassionate witness is enough for new understanding and integration of your experiences. However, chronic stress and trauma impact our bodies as well as our minds, often requiring more specialized intervention. To this end, I maintain my awareness of new research and treatment approaches. I have received specialized training in:
I value diversity and cultural exchange, and have been fortunate to work with people from many backgrounds. I strive to practice from a place of cultural humility, acknowledging each client’s unique experience and the realities of discrimination and inequity. My goal is to combine my knowledge of evidence-based treatments with an individualized, holistic approach tailored to you.
Outside of the office I am usually doing something outdoors, preferably underwater!
